"Basic" Comparison- 135L/100L Macro










Clearly not meant to represent a "by-the-book" comparison test. Also, I'm not the most educated on the "physics of why", so to speak... Just trying to offer up something and hope it's somewhat useful or interesting.

Simple RAW, no post, image arranged via Lightroom's Print Module, then exported ("Print to File") as JPG, and uploaded. This is why no EXIF is available under "Additional Information." Each image is it's own full JPG. Under "All sizes- Original" may take a moment to load.

Tripod stayed in same location, lenses were simply swapped out.

Ideally, I would have been able to frame the 100L identically to the 135L, but the wind wasn't cooperating and kept "readjusting" the subject and, therefore, the composition. It was a valiant effort, but alas... not perfect, so failed.

As for bokeh:
-Clearly, the first issue is the Focal Length difference, which not only affects the Field of View, but also affects compression of that Field of View.
-The 135L has an 8-blade Aperture, while the 100L Macro has a 9-blade Rounded Aperture.

Hope this offers at least some useful visual information. If need be, I'd be happy to upload each photo so as to reveal EXIF. No doubt the 100L will also prove to be an awesome portrait lens.
